Tennis
![]() Summer is creeping up faster than everyone may think, so I would like to let the members know of some exciting goals and thoughts for the upcoming season a well as events to look forward to. My main goals are to not only help build and grow the membership here at KCC, but to also grow and build a fun learning environment for all the current and potential tennis players.
There are a few ways I plan to accomplish this. I thought on top of the classes that will be offered for the juniors, “How can we utilize more of the club?” One exciting new opportunity will be a “Tennis and Swim Camp”. The Tennis and Swim Camp will be for ages 7-17, and is structured to encourage growing as a person as well as a tennis player. Within the camp, the players will learn basic tennis skills, teamwork, and of course have fun. The Tennis and Swim Camp will begin Thursday, June 16th and run on Thursdays through August. Most of the junior classes are going to remain the same with the exception of Thursday’s, because of the new Tennis and Swim Camp.
The Club will be participating in an inter-club against other clubs; those juniors who are interested in playing there will be a separate practice on Thursday’s after the camp.
In addition to the camp and inter-clubs there will be multiple family and adult functions that will be happening this summer, some of the functions to look for are member/guest days, adult mixers, and a few events that will be new the club this year. There will also be classes offered for adults who have never played tennis before, Tennis 1-2-3, so they can participate in the end of the year Triathlon, if they are up for the challenge! If not, I still will welcome anyone to try out the class. Learning tennis can be done at any age at any time.
In conclusion, summer will be here before we know; so start getting geared up for some fun and new summer of tennis here at Kenosha Country Club. I will look forward to seeing you all in the next few months.
